Privacy Policy
This privacy notice explains how NoPhoto uses personal information collected through nophoto.app, including the launch-registration form. NoPhoto is operated by Ping Media Group Ltd.
Launch registration
When you start on the website, we collect your first name, email, postcode area, 18-or-over confirmation, any referral code and technical timestamps. Matchmaking pre-registration also asks for gender and dating preferences, with separate explicit consent.
Your postcode area identifies your launch group, such as LE for the Leicester postcode area. It is not an exact location or the device location used for discovery in the app.
The website saves a registration record, not a public dating profile. The app handover is being built to link those details securely to a verified app account. It is not yet available.
Why we use this information
- to manage your saved registration and local launch group;
- to send your requested local launch invitation and, if you separately choose them, local milestone updates;
- to preserve referrals and founding-member eligibility when your app account is created;
- to understand where there is enough local interest to open NoPhoto;
- to prevent misuse, duplicate registrations and automated submissions; and
- to carry your saved first name, email, postcode area, referral and founder status into your app registration after your email is verified.
Where the information is stored
Launch-registration records are stored in NoPhoto’s Supabase database. The current NoPhoto Supabase project is hosted in the London region. Access is restricted and the public website cannot browse or list waitlist records.
How long we keep it
We keep launch-registration information while you remain registered for NoPhoto’s staged launch and while it is needed to carry your registration into the app. We will delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, or when you ask us to remove your registration record where applicable.
Registration and launch emails
The form separately records your requested local launch invitation and your optional permission for local milestone updates. This choice is separate from consent to use matching details. We will not sell your personal information to advertisers.
Security and abuse prevention
The signup form uses request validation, a hidden spam field and temporary rate limiting to reduce automated abuse. NoPhoto does not collect passwords, birth dates or profile-prompt answers through the website form. Dating preferences are collected only for matchmaking pre-registration with explicit consent.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights over your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion and to withdraw consent where consent is relied upon.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as NoPhoto develops. Material changes affecting people who have started registration will be reflected on this page before they take effect.
Last updated: 29 September 2026.
Your postcode-area launch group
We ask only for the one or two letters at the start of your postcode, such as LE or B. This identifies your launch group, not your town or address.
If you paste a postcode into the new form, the browser reduces it to its area before sending it. New registrations store the area code only, not the full postcode or postcode district.
For earlier registrations, an area can be derived from a previously supplied postcode. Saving your details through the updated form replaces the old postcode with the area-only value.
You can change your launch area through your private registration page. The app will ask separately for device location; your launch area does not set a discovery boundary.
Matching preferences and your choices
For matchmaking pre-registration, we ask for your self-declared gender and the genders of people you would like to meet. More than one preference can be selected. We do not infer gender from a name or assign a sexuality label.
Your gender and preferences may reveal your sexual orientation. We use them only with your explicit consent to assess reciprocal local matching opportunities and prepare the saved details for your future app registration.
New registrations use one matching-registration form. Any earlier notification-only subscriptions or incomplete records are preserved but are not counted as completed matching registrations. No missing preferences or permissions are inferred.
No age, age band, birth date or preferred age range is collected on this website. The 18-or-over checkbox is a self-declaration, not independent age verification. Launch-planning estimates do not establish age compatibility or guarantee matches.
Consent and email confirmation
We rely on consent under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) for your requested registration and separate email choices. For gender and dating preferences, we also rely on explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a).
Saving a new place includes an explicit request for one email inviting you when NoPhoto opens in your area. You can cancel that request without losing your registration. Confirmation and private management emails are sent when you request them.
The separate “Local progress emails” choice covers local registration milestones and progress towards launch. It is optional and unticked for new registrations. Refusing or stopping these updates does not affect your place, matching count, requested invitation or founder eligibility.
We do not treat older general email permissions as new milestone permissions or new invitation requests. Existing members can review both choices through their private registration page.
We record the wording version and server timestamp of each consent and withdrawal. We verify your email before asking for new matching details. Confirming your email opens an existing registration or lets you complete a new one. Your new registration is saved when you submit the final choices. Confirming an email does not verify identity, gender, age or the truth of other information.
Changing or withdrawing your choices
Use your private email link to manage your registration. You can change your answers, remove matching details, stop milestone updates, cancel your invitation, stop all launch emails or delete your website registration. Contact us using the email above if you cannot access your link.
Removing matching permission clears your gender and preferences from the active registration and removes you from matching planning. Your separate invitation and milestone-email choices stay unchanged unless you also switch them off.
Deleting the website registration also removes its consent-event records and private management sessions. This does not delete a separate app account. Backup copies may remain until normal backup rotation, but are not used for launch planning.
Storage and protection
Pending email links and incomplete verified-email sessions expire after 48 hours. Email verification alone does not add you to the launch list. We temporarily store your email and any invitation code so you can continue on another device. Expired pending requests are excluded immediately and removed by scheduled cleanup, which runs through WordPress. Private management sessions expire after 30 days.
The browser sends form details securely through the NoPhoto website to Supabase. NoPhoto does not publish individual preferences or small-area demographic breakdowns. Public referral links do not contain your name, postcode or preferences.
We use limited, temporary request records to prevent abuse under our legitimate interest in securing the service. The registration code does not send form values to advertising or analytics services.
We use Brevo to deliver registration emails. It processes recipient email addresses, message content and delivery information. We do not include your postcode area, gender or dating preferences in these emails or synchronise that information to a marketing list.
A strictly necessary, secure browser cookie keeps your private registration-management session open after you confirm your email. Signing out removes that cookie.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.
