Looking for singles events in Leicester can be surprisingly confusing. Some organisers have events you can book in the city now, while others only have a Leicester interest page or events elsewhere in Leicestershire.

The options below show what sort of event each organiser offers and where to check the latest dates, age ranges and availability before booking.

Listings checked: 28 September 2026. Events, venues, age ranges and availability can change, so check the organiser’s page before booking.

DEIGHT: a relaxed social mixer for people in their 30s and 40s

DEIGHT lists a Leicester Singles Social Mixer for people in their 30s and 40s. It is a hosted social rather than a sequence of timed dates: guests mingle at their own pace, with introductions available from the host.

The Leicester event page said the city-centre venue would be disclosed to booked guests. DEIGHT also says new guests complete identity verification before attending their first event. That may appeal if you want a structured environment without formal speed-dating rotations.

Use the organiser’s events page to check the next Leicester date, current price and availability before making plans.

Ditch or Date: classic speed dating at Veeno

Ditch or Date’s Leicester page lists events at Veeno, using the familiar speed-dating format of short one-to-one conversations followed by private matching.

The organiser publishes the age range, ticket availability, start time and venue on each individual event page. Those details can change from one session to the next, so treat the city page as the starting point and check the specific event before paying.

Fastlove: an established Leicester event page, but check the next live date

Fastlove’s Leicester page lists its Leicester venue and age-group filters. On 28 September, the latest Leicester date visible on its main schedule was 27 September, with no later Leicester event shown.

That may simply mean the next date has not been released yet, so check the organiser’s page before making plans.

Original Dating: Leicester is currently an interest-register page

Original Dating’s Leicester page currently asks people to register interest rather than offering a bookable Leicester event.

That distinction matters. A polished city landing page is not the same thing as a bookable local event.

Love At First Date: useful nearby option, but it is in Hinckley

Love At First Date runs events around the Midlands, including Hinckley in Leicestershire. Hinckley is not Leicester city, so it is only relevant if you are comfortable travelling and the individual event suits your age range.

Which format is likely to suit you?

Choose speed dating if you want structure

Speed dating removes the problem of having to walk across a room and introduce yourself repeatedly. The host controls the rotations and everyone is there to meet people. The trade-off is that the conversations are short and the format can feel intense if you need more time to warm up.

Choose a mixer if you prefer longer, less scripted conversations

A hosted mixer gives you more control over how long you speak to someone. It can feel more natural, but you may need to start or join conversations yourself. If that sounds daunting, check whether the organiser offers introductions from a host.

Five things to check before you book

  • The exact location. Make sure the event is actually in Leicester if that matters to you, rather than elsewhere in Leicestershire.
  • The age guide. Organisers use different age bands, and some treat them as flexible while others do not.
  • The format. A mixer, classic speed dating and a themed singles night are different experiences.
  • Cancellation and refund terms. Read them before paying, especially if the event relies on balancing attendance.
  • How matching works afterwards. Some organisers use private online selections, while social mixers may use an optional connection system or no formal matching at all.

Can you go to a Leicester singles event alone?

Yes. These events are designed around people arriving to meet others, so going alone is normal. If you are nervous, arrive early enough to find the host, understand the format and settle before the event begins.

If fast, timed conversations sound intimidating, our speed dating guide explains the format in more detail. You can also use our speed dating questions guide to prepare a few natural prompts rather than memorising a script.
